I didn't even go....honestly after reading the reviews, I decided to just leave this attraction out of the itinerary. Seems unfortunate too because some of the pictures were gorgeous.

Great views of the city, but the parking lot is covered in broken glass, every inch of it.

View sucked! Looking at a bridge and industrial area. The trees have grown to block most of the view. There are no signs to guide you. Trash, mainly broken glass EVERYWHERE! Parking lot nearby has been closed. It is blocked with boulders. Not a good area. Do not go at night or near sundown. Not my idea of family friendly.

I know KCPD patrols that area. I'm pretty sure they handle the security for that area. If your having a problem , I would contact them.

Is there any reason why Jefferson street and State are locked at this time it is currently 08:44 am the website says the park is open 24 hours a day. Citizen's their battery died in car trying to pick up car.

I believe you're not going to open it up until noon that's the last I've seen them open it's whenever park and rec gets to it
