After a thorough investigation of the chairlifts and elevators so that my brother, who was planning to stay with us, could access the second floor. I called Access to Freedom and then met with Rick in their Lake Forest showroom. Rick is very friendly and knowledgeable, everyone in the office treats you like a family and is very honest. Being a person who unfortunately must be sure. I did further research and concluded that we should go with Access to Freedom. I can say now years later that it was the right decision to choose them to provide a chairlift. Rick came out and took photos and measurements then sent them off to have the custom chair lift built. After a few weeks, Rick called us and scheduled the installation. We couldn't be happier. The chair lift continued to work being used multiple times per day until his weekend, we called Rick due to a power issue and he scheduled Ben to investigate the problem. Ben came over at noon on a Sunday less than 24 hours later and fixed the power issue in just a few minutes and explained that he will come back later in the week to replace the worn guide roller. Rick never forgets his customers. Everyone who works for Access to freedom is professional and polite. They treat you as if you were part of their family. I highly recommend this family-owned business to take care of your needs. Rick ensures you find the right solution for your loved one. Contrary to my experience, my brother, who persuaded our parents to install an acorn stairlift in their home a month later has had nothing but issues. The issues are so bad that after spending over $12000 for a chairlift that has a constant error and won’t run, they don’t even go upstairs anymore, and they only have used it a handful of times. As I was writing this review, I got a call from Trish at Access to Freedom, and it turns out Ben is scheduled to come and replace the guide rollers at 1 pm. Excellent customer service. I cannot recommend them enough.

We just installed a Wessex Elesse home elevator. The entire experience from our very first contact with Rick Mills and Access to Freedom throughout the installation was terrific. Rick's contractor, Rick Cullen, and his two assistants, Mike and Arn, were meticulous as were the installers who wired the Elesse. The install of course entailed cutting into the office ceiling and into the floor of our bedroom where the elevator lands, but when everyone had finished every hint of construction had been carefully removed and the ceiling and walls beautifully restored. Our staircase would not accommodate a stair chairlift; an elevator was our only possible choice. We chose the Wessex once we saw models of both the Wessex and the Stiltz at Access to Freedom's showroom. This Elesse model is practically silent, moves effortlessly, and is code compliant. We could not be more pleased with the result and cannot recommend Rick Mills highly enough.

There's just no way to describe how everything has become so normal around my house! I used to gather everything I might want during the day and descend the stair ONCE in the morning. Same thing at night. Climb those stairs one at a time. Favoring my left knee was beginning to wear on my right hip! Now everything is so normal! Love my Stannah. I selected this company because they have a storefront locally. I went in to see just how things were run after recieving my quote. No pressure. Felt like family from day one. The installation went so smoothly by two very experienced men who work for the company. They are NOT contracted out like most other companies! I can say with certainty you will enjoy your new freedom and working with every one of them. They are always close at hand by phone for any problems...which don't seem to happen at all!

Absolutely Excellent. Highest Recommendation. I thoroughly researched the purchase of a stairlift because it was for my 97-year-old Mother and I wanted it to be exactly right and easy for her. I searched the web and found many companies, but the Access To Freedom website had videos that really answered my questions. And I was delighted to learn they have a local showroom. Other companies had been out to the house and given estimates, but it was frustrating that I could not actually try out the product. At the Access to Freedom showroom I met the owner, Rick Mills, and found that he was just as great as his videos. I was able to ride up and down on the stair lifts they have on display, and compare different options, and with his help was able to chose the right solution for my Mother. The price was very reasonable, with no hidden costs. Installation was easy. And now that my Mother has had several months experience using the stair lift, I can report that it is fantastic. Great product, superb service, and everyone I met at the company was forthright, kind, professional, eager to help, and just really wonderful to deal with. And it is a comfort to know that their expertise is right nearby in case a need arises. I really searched for the best, and I do believe I found it.
