My Mother lives on the Lake. We rented a pontoon boat for boat rides for her 90th Birthday Party. The folks at Northampton Marine made the process incredibly easy. The pontoon boat carried 10 passengers with plenty of room. It was very clean, started right up, ran smoothly, and allowed for a surprising variation in speed. It allowed us to give comfortable and enjoyable boat rides to friends and relatives of all ages.

I can't say enough good things about Northampton Marine. We have two older boats---a 2006 Bentley 90Hp pontoon and a 1999 19' Monterrey bowrider---and Northampton Marine is the only place I trust for servicing them. John and his family run a very professional shop, and they always go the extra mile for their loyal customers. Here's a perfect example: Two weekends ago I had the pontoon out when the steering started to go---and I barely made it back to the boathouse. I tried to see if I might be able to fix it myself but realized it would require a mechanic. The worst part is I had a big group of folks coming down in 10 days, so I was worried i wouldn't have the the one boat I needed most. I took a video of the problem and took some photos of the helm so I could show John. I ended up needing a new helm and cable system. Since I don't have a trailer for the pontoon---and couldn't get my hands on one that week---I needed them to tow the boat out, service it, and then return the boat back to my boat dock. John saw I was desperate and he didn't hesitate to make it happen; his son was able to retrieve the boat, and I was amazed to see that they had it fixed and back to my dock in three days! He saved me. Frankly we're lucky to have Northampton Marine at Lake Gaston. Those guys know their stuff and they service every type of watercraft. Most importantly, they really treat their customers well and I'll never, ever forget the lengths to which John went out of his way to help me when I was in a pinch.

Although this boat rental experience was new to me, it went reasonably well. At pick up, the boat was in good condition, and the procedures quickly explained. Few problems over 2 day rental but a deck hand was definitely helpful. Only problems were mooring lines too short, and cash fueling service with no attendant. Otherwise good sailing and fun for all.
