UPDATE! The owner contacted me very quickly and we ultimately found that the speakers in front of us were damaged. I am beyond impressed with the customer service by John and his team. Thank you so much for working this out, I only wish we could have figured it out that night and moved to another speaker.... This was my first time to this theater and we sat on the lawn to watch Thor: Love and Thunder. I loved almost everything about this theater. The prices 5 stars, the food and cost 5 stars, the atmosphere 5 stars. Unfortunately, the sound on the lawn knocked the rating down to a 3. I might come back again, but will bring or rent my own FM radio so I can hear the dialog without having to sit right next to a speaker. I had to lean over with my ear next to the in-ground speakers to hear the words. I tried to find someone to ask about the volume but didn't see anyone around the projection station to ask. I was disappointed in the sound, but once I moved to sit within a couple feet of a speaker it got better. All 5 of our party shared our experience to fill in the blanks of the movie plot on the way home because none of us could hear it or understand the words from more than 2 feet away.

Goochland Drive-In is truly the best drive-in I have ever been to. I grew up going to the drive-in movies and absolutely loved it. I couldn’t believe any were left around. We started coming here 5 years ago and we absolutely love it. The owner goes above and beyond and the staff are great. His never ending appreciation of our Armed Forces is so meaningful to this Vet. I appreciate it and feel appreciated here. Thank you for your dream that you share with us. This is truly a GREAT family adventure to include your dog(s). The concession stand is more than reasonable. If you are looking for a great adventure I promise it’s worth the drive, and every penny you will spend. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Took me forever to finally come even though I've wanted to since it opened. Throughly enjoyed it and the whole experience was great! Food was good and quick, parking worked out so we could see good, had a very pleasant time. Will definitely be back and would recommend!

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!! We had such a great time. The staff is super friendly and helpful!!! The food at the concession stand is worth every penny. I recommend the Goochland Dog... it is my ultimate favorite!!! This is our 3rd time going to the Drive-in and I recommend everyone experiencing it atleast once in their lifetime. The prices are decent for both getting in to see the movie and at the concession stand.
