For all of you history buffs and self-proclaimed scientists alike, the Griffith Observatory is a great combination of the two. If you are vacationing in Los Angeles like I was or if you live in LA, this is a place to visit. From learning more about Galileo and taking in the beautiful views, this place far exceeded my expectations. If I can give a word of advice, make sure you have a vaccination card on hand. Itβll make the process easier.

We went to the Griffith Observatory after we visited the Hollywood sign. We went in the middle of March and there were a lot of people visiting. The parking was full, but luckily, some kind hearted visitors gave us their paid parking ticket with 2 hours remaining in it. We were very thankful. We hiked for a bit to reach the main observatory. The first thing that you will notice is the awesome view of Los Angeles from this area. There were binoculars that you can use if you want. We entered the main hall and it was free, however, there were areas that were reserved for people who want a more detailed experience for a fee. We saw several interesting exhibit like the periodic table of elements, with all the samples of the safe ones (no radioactive elements), there is a Faraday cage which is awesome, and a giant telescope that you can look at located at the rooftop dome. Overall this was a wanderful experience.

I have seen some people ride some. They must be allowed.
There is shuttle to Griffith. There is a stop near to parking area. You can catch shuttle from there.
If I'm not mistaken at 10
Griffith Observatory does have WiFi, but consider the thousands of users that are connected at the same time, this could slow down the data delivery speed, even drop your connect, so the safest bet is to be your own hotspot, which will assist you in securing your data streams. Please be safe, because there are individuals who are looking for multiple way to gather enough personal data from our devices when connected to unsecure servers, for them this is a goldmine. Don't be naive about securing your data. Now relax and enjoy the Observatory and all its wonderful views.
They open until 10 PM, parking access until 10 PM, but if we park outside parking area, we can park till midnight.
