Here's an update from my review from a few months ago! My kids have enjoyed Sylvan so far. It's great to hear about their progress and what they're learning about with the monthly progress report meetings. I love getting feedback from the staff and teachers. Whether it's good feedback or constructive criticism, I think it's important to know what my children is doing well in and what needs improvement. I really think Sylvan will help my children do well once school starts soon. (The tutors are amazing! My children have been coming consistently for a few weeks and they usually have the same tutors so it's nice that my children have a familiar face to work with. Nothing but good reviews from my kids on their end too!)

My daughter has been working with Sylvan for about a year now and I'm very happy with the results. While my daughter was never behind in school, I used Sylvan as a tool to get her ahead. She enjoys being challenged academically and Sylvan offers her opportunities to learn above her grade level. Also, the staff is incredibly flexible and always super easy to work with.

This has been without a doubt such a positive experience for my son who has actually enjoyed coming to Sylvan classes, even in the summer. When I first initiated the communication to learn more about their curriculum and teaching styles, I was still on the fence! I was even inquiring with other places. After speaking with the director and assistant director, I decided to give it a chance. I will say it does cost quite a few pretty pennies, but definitely worth it. My son has enjoyed coming in, and it takes the right person to connect and encourage him to not see this as a negative experience. Jacob has really changed his outlook on Math! Thank you! I will say, it’s important that a child click with the person they are working with so he/she has a positive learning experience.I don’t know about other Sylvan locations, but the one at West Portal runs a thorough faculty.

We have worked with Sylvan and the team at the West Portal SF location for a number of years now. First with our oldest daughter and now with our youngest. Izzy, who is the primary tutor assigned to work with our younger daughter has really made a positive impression on her. She is patient, kind and does a fantastic job. We highly recommend this talented team at Sylvan to anyone looking for some additional help with their children’s school work.
