Posting for my Dad :)... I'm writing this review regarding a motor that was built for me by Teague Custom Marine. This review is made after spending one season on the water with the new motor, and approximately 40 hours of use. After spending literally several hundred thousand dollars trying to make a Donzi ZX 28’ go fast enough to be impressive and create some adrenaline, and several years of sitting on my dock, waiting for my previous mechanic to get my Donzi finished, I finally gave up, and decided to purchase a Porsche boat, called Fearless 28. While nobody really knows how many were manufactured before they went bankrupt, it is believed that there were only around 10-20 of them made. When the boat came out in 2008 it had a $350,000 starting price, but was released right in the middle of the financial crisis. The boat had a red 525 mercury racing motor, and also originally came with a blue supercharged 600. While this was the set-up that I was looking for, I wasn’t able to find a Fearless with the supercharged 600 for sale. When I got the boat, my top speed at Lake Tahoe was 71 mph- not bad but not exciting (you lose approximately 21% of your horsepower at 6200 feet elevation non-supercharged). Wanting to go faster, but unwilling to let any boat mechanics that I had previously dealt with touch the boat, I started researching who could make this happen. This is where Teague Custom Marine comes in. After watching some of the videos that they produced on props and outdrives, and even motor building, I was impressed. I towed the boat for 10 hours down to Teague Custom Marine and dropped it off with Josh. When we opened the engine compartment he noticed several items that weren't correct which I agreed with. The agreement was to upgrade my 525 to basically a blue 850 horsepower that looks like the 600 that came in the boat. The price that I had figured based on watching his videos with customer comments was to be around $35,000. I asked if the boat could be done by June 1 which was only a few weeks off, and was told that it couldn't be finished before the 15th but he would try to get it out by the first. I called several times nervous because my experience with boat mechanics was way over budget in time and money but lo and behold the boat was done within one day of when he said he'd have it done – amazing. And the price was less than the estimate - unbelievable (that did not include the inspection of the rigging and the additional work needed for custom mufflers and waterlines and other miscellaneous which I was aware of). Because of the Covid I just picked up the boat quickly and started driving back to Tahoe. When I got there and opened the engine hatch I was blown away at the quality, and that it looked like one of my show cars. It was absolutely gorgeous. We had some problems with the motor the first week because the fuel pump that was shipped with the supercharger was defective so we had to keep playing with the fuel pressure. But every time I called them they answered the phone and gave excellent service. In fact, one time when I couldn't get a hold of Josh because he was out of town Teague himself called me back to make sure everything was OK. When we had figured out that it was the fuel pump they immediately called the manufacture, and overnighted a better fuel pump at no cost because they didn't have one in stock. The boat now runs great, is extremely impressive and at 91 mph in a single haul 28 foot – you get your adrenaline going! If you have a performance boat I would recommend Teague Custom Marine for their quality of work, honesty, and extremely fair pricing. -Terry, the guy with the Porsche boat at Lake Tahoe.

Customer service at Teague is second to none. We changed from Bravo to Imco SCX drives and sourced all the parts from Teague. After about 20 phone calls I never felt the staff was frustrated with me(they probably should have been). They were able to answer every little question I had and get me the exact parts I needed for the conversation. A+++++

Best Boat Service Ever! I've owned my boat for 21 years and I've had lots of opportunity to have repairs done. On my last trip out, my Port motor started making a strange tapping sound, I feared the worst. I wasn’t sure where to go for repairs as the guy who built the motors has retired, so I asked a boating friend for advice. He suggested Teague Custom Marine. I called and they got me right in (in the middle of Summer) to diagnose the problem. Surprisingly, only 2 days after dropping the boat off, they had not only diagnosed the problem, but had repaired it. Much to my surprise it was just an exhaust gasket. I was so relieved. But the best part was the bill, it was under $400. I don't think I've ever paid for a repair that didn’t start with at least $1,000. Everyone at Teague was first class, pleasant, helpful, and honest. Ill be back! Teague got me back out on the water.
