Dope park. Mixture of different cultures & all there to enjoy life and what the park has to offer. From bbq to slides along with some old fashioned neighborhood karaoke!! Can't wait to go back.

My kids grew up in Monterey Park, my mom who is now 95 years old would go there and walk around every day about 40 years ago. We had a very good day at Barnes Park, reminisced a lot. It hasn't changed from how it was years ago. A great park.

The playground rules still apply as adults. Barnes Park is a public green space that measures approximately 17 acres, and is located at the heart of Monterey Park. It seems this park was newly remodeled and upgraded. This park features a community center, basketball gym, amphitheater/memorial bowl, sheltered picnic pavilion, Olympic size pool, lighted softball field, tennis courts, and children's play area. Plenty of parking spot. Furthermore, this park has close proximity to the local police department and the Boys and Girls club. Most park goers were kids, adults and young families. Basically it's quite diverse and multicultural. I dig it. There were no homeless person lurking around when I visited so that's bloody great. Overall, this is a great park with excellent features. I highly recommend this park.

On May 9-12, 2019 the city of Monterey Park celebrated the city's birthday with a carnival. It may be the same for next year.
yeah... right now: http://www.montereypark.ca.gov/709/Citys-Birthday-Celebration
The fair will only be around until the end of the weekend
Nope. Never rented a spot there but you can just call the Park and Recreations division of the city and get the pricing
I've seen many people walking their dogs on leashes in Barnes Park, and I haven't seen posted.signage saying.that.you can't...
Not sure check the website
Yes book the tables to put foods and goodies in thrm. The two front tables give you a bit more space as there is an open area for gathering or dancing next to them.
Yes there is a section with tables, not sure if you have to reserve
