I do not recommend the San Bernardino YMCA. This is one of the worst YMCA's I've ever been too. It's so ran down and in desperate need of many upgrades.

They are open from 6:30am to 12pm. Very nice people working there. Tai chi is from 9:30 until almost 11:00 a.m.

In theory this is a great place for the community. However the staff and coordinators are highly unreliable and do not follow the codes and standards that they are supposed to comply with. My son's school had a luau at the indoor pool. My son cut his foot on some type of debris they missed at the bottom of the pool and the lifeguard (nor the staff ) felt the need to let me know. I was not made aware of the injury until i went to pick him up and he was limping and crying! I understand that things happen, but once i tried to clarify the issue with the building coordinators i was given the run around and then never called back, as if the matter could be swept under the rug. Now i caution others on how they and their children will be handled when at this facility.

They have a really nice indoor pool that is great for someone who has joint issues and cannot exercise conventionally. They also have an income based assistance program. So it makes this gym available for people with fixed incomes.

You can talk to the front desk about room availability. There are times in between classes that could possibly be used. Approval has to be given for safety reasons.
Yes but its outdoors and they usually bring the nets out seasonally. Would just need to ask for them to be set up.
Hi Caitlyn. We are so sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience at the San Bernardino YMCA. We'd love to discuss this further with you. If you'd like, please reach out to the San Bernardino YMCA at 909-881-9622 and ask for Franco.

I see this post was a year ago. The heater was outdated but they have recently replaced it and water temperatures are normal.
