On a positive note, well kept RV park, but on a negative note…BEWARE. They will “nickel & dime” you out of your money. Book a reservation, need to change NOT cancel…no problem, cha ching! Their guideline said “YOU may change the date of your reservation, one time with no fee.” I was charged & our friends each a $50 processing fee. Our reservation changed from 7 to 5 days(same week same month) well in advance. Paid $455(March, 2022), and my credit was $78.75, just saying. I emailed them, as we had an early departure & the office was closed, asking once reviewed, I’d like to speak with someone. Didn’t happen, informed via email of my credit, “thank you Susan(Manager-Great Outdoors RV Park-Franklin NC).”

Very nice campground in a great area. Downtown Franklin is a short drive and also only 20 minutes or so from Highlands. Good hiking and waterfalls close by. All facilities (pool included) are very clean and well maintained and we found all the staff to be very friendly. We stayed for 4 days and could have easily stayed another 4 as there's so much to do. The sites are reasonably sized with all utilities. Wifi and cell signals are good. We definitely plan to return!

The Great Outdoors Resort is a beautiful camping Resort. Mike and Polly are fantastic hosts and are very kind. My wife and I stayed at this resort during November and enjoyed our stay. Mike and his crews are visible every day working throughout the resort to make sure your stay is enjoyable without any issues. We recommend this resort highly and recommend you book early. Stayed for 4 nights in June 2021. Beautiful campground - clean, well maintained. We were placed in Lot #10. Nice setting, but if you like a peaceful environment, don't stay in the spots that border the major highway. 24 hours of trucks, engine breaks, etc. Major disappointment for such a nice place. Other locations in the facility were much quieter, but at this resort you cannot request a spot.
