The location of these courts make them ideal for me because they are right next to the 5 freeway with the entrance located on Riverside Drive near Los Feliz. If the freeway is packed and in a jam (cars not moving/looking more like a parking lot) I'll make a quick exit and go spend some quality time working on my serve then when the traffic on the freeway gets back to a steady flow I can hop right back on it and get going where I need to go, I do it all the time.

This is a well-run tennis center centrally located in Los Feliz. There are 12 tennis courts, including a stadium court. The courts are not free. Booking in advance is advised. The courts are maintained and free of trash, litter and cement cracks. The courts are very close to public transportation stops. Parking is available and free. There is a playground area for the kids, cookout stations for picnics. Also a soccer field. Loads to enjoy here. My one, well two, complaint(s) are the tennis shop doesn't sell tennis balls and the restrooms can be hit or miss with cleanliness. But I play here regularly and would definitely recommend it .

It is a beautiful park, but the tennis courts are basically a scam on their hours. We got to the tennis courts around 7:15pm and were planning a couple of rounds on the courts since it was pretty empty. We kept expecting the lights to turn on, but NONE OF THEM DID. We tried using our lights but it barely helped. We had to call it quits since they apparently cant turn on the lights for the courts but the parking lot lights were quickly turned on. Very absurd experience to have at such a park. Especially since its the Griffith park tennis courts. I expected way more.

Would get more stars but all the lights are out but two courts (2 & 4) and courts 9 & 10 are lit for evening tennis but always chained off and inaccessible. If the lights were fixed for majority of the courts for evening tennis, this location would definitely get 5 stars. Well kept for the most part. This is review is for the Riverside Tennis Court.

Maybe not 1st come 1st serve.Depend how long you want to play.
Yes, theres a wooden backboard on court 11 behind the pay booth next to the freeway. It's a little old but works fine. You can hit against it for free until someone rents the court.
