One of the unexpectedly best Mexican dining experiences we've had in a long time! We live in Five Forks and rarely eat in Pelzer. The inside reminded me more of an old diner than the typical Mexican place. That was great, since I had on what I'd exercised in that morning and then gone fishing in (and caught in a rainstorm!). Very casual. Friendly, attentive staff meant never running out of drinks or salsa. For me, the very best thing was the great prices and normal sized plates. The food was seasoned well and tasted great, nothing was too salty or too spicy. I highly recommend the hot salsa! I would definitely go back again if in Pelzer around dinner time!

We were very disappointed with our experience at El Maguey. No greeting when we came in. Staff was not friendly at all. Food was just ok. I ordered the grilled fish. Everything on the plate was Beige. Not very eye-pleasing. Edible, or maybe it was because I was really hungry that I ate some. My friend ordered the chicken and rice. Said it was edible, but not good. An ant was crawling on my beverage cup, the lil guy almost made it into my drink before i could stop him. Not once did the staff come by to see if everything was okay. NEVER GOING BACK I'll stick with Los Compadres. The food there is never disappointing. Too bad they are closed on Sundays.

A very casual authentic Mexican restaurant. They are very friendly and hospitable. Our children enjoyed tacos and chicken nuggets. My husband ordered the Pollo Loco Plate. It was very nice. It had broccoli, mushrooms, onions with rice and beans. He very much enjoyed it. I myself ordered a Mexican Chicken Salad. The chicken was grilled and seasoned perfectly. For a family of 5 we ate there for 35.00 excluding our tip. We will definitely come back.
