Donaldson Center Airport-GYH

While visiting my mother, who lives in Easley, I happened upon this airfield/park in search of a place to metal detect. Formerly a training base for the US Army Air Corps during WW II, the spot has a lot of history in addition to still being an active airport. Apparently the Air Force is still active there judging from the mind-blowing afterburner thunder from a couple of F-16s during takeoff...an added bonus! Great spot with wide-open spaces, but watch out for the fire ants!

Now this is a good spot for aviation enthusiasts, some military stuff around with possibility to shot some pics, even some stuff outside the fence so there was a P3-Orion that was going to be scrapped.
