Prices have gone crazy and mead we purchased was too tart to enjoy. Tasted like biting into a lemon, neither of us could drink it. Cost $35 bucks for a 350ml bottle. :(

Love this shared space with Serpentine Cider and Rollin' Roots. Dog-friendly inside and out which is fantastic! The meads were very sweet!! If you're going to try both ciders and meads, definitely try the mead first as there's no going back after that. A tasting goes a long way, you could definitely share one. The pineapple on "La Pina Perdida" was hands down our favorite followed by the "Mounds Rushmore". Some of them can taste a little sickly sweet but very flavorful. Staff was super nice. I would say if you don't like sweeter drinks then this is probably not the place for you, however you can always go and get a tasting of cider from Serpentine Cider (a much drier option) or grab a bite from the delicious Rollin' Roots.

If you’re a mead fan but haven’t been to Lost Cause, you’re missing some of the best mead available. If all you’ve had are 7-8% session meads, this is a whole ‘nother level level of taste and complexity! Cidery in the same building, too. Check it out!

Mead is an alcoholic beverage made out of fermented honey. The same way cider and beer are similar- mead is a cousin of these two drinks. Lost Cause is so good! So glad we have a meadery in San Diego. I recommend this place to EVERYONE. If you on google reviews trying to decide if you should give it a shot or not, do it. I doubt you’ll regret it. If you aren’t a big IPA or beer drinker and are looking for something light, fruity, sweet and or flavorful give mead a try!
