Great place to hit the trails! Be aware that there is a MAIN ENTRANCE and a "North of the river" trail entry. I suggest to go to the main entrance first, even if you are planning to hit the trails north of the river. It makes it easier to pay and obtain a map. BOTH are worth a visit either or way. Personally I will have to return to cover the remainder of the park. Was only able to complete about 8 miles on the trails. Definitely recommend visiting this Florida state park, whether you want to drive, kayak or hit the trails. If you are planning on the latter, I suggest hiking shoes vice sneakers, plenty H2O and bug spray!!! Use the facilities while in the main part of the park, I did not see any "north of the river". ENJOY.

Entrance fee: $5 entrance fee Basic Needs: plenty of bathrooms, I only saw two water fountains and they do not serve food here Well Maintained: Yes How busy: Not at all, very little people seen on trails Quietness: Very little/no car noises can be heard, some loud kayakers but thats about it. Unique: Horseback Riding, rentable bikes and kayaks Trail/Park size: Trails were pretty narrow, with semi distinct signs telling you where you are. Very confusing leaving a trail and ending up on the road however. The park was very big Seating: Plenty of pavilions and benchs Allowed: They allow fishing, dogs, and biking. They dont allow horseback riding or motorcross on the trails however. Bugs: A lot of bugs were at this park, very much recommend bug spray Amenities: Kayak launch and Playgrounds are present Overall opinion: Very fun, kind of lackluster trails but some cool views, would still very much recommend.

Beautiful park to walk the dog. The trails are sandy in some areas, but it’s not too deep.

Peaceful park with an old Florida feeling. Just the right size to spend a few hours walking, bird watching, kayaking or just sitting. Plenty of picnic areas, some a fewinutes walk from parking.

I think your parents can, but they should ask when they call. You're required to show ID when you check in and you could have a problem. There's a Spring Festival March 24th which sounds like fun. Hope you're going this weekend.
Yes
Yes there is an RV camping and you can rent a stall if you have a horse
There was a 12 foot gator in the area but it hasn't been seen since the accident.
