Not sure if it was because I had low expectations for this place, but I was very impressed with this aquarium. The layout flows nicely, with no bottlenecks. Both indoor and outdoor areas are fun and well designed. The food area is well placed, and has a nice menu. Walking to the second building could be an issue during rainy days, though. But once you're there you'll be treated to cool turtle and manatee exhibits. Overall a fun time if you have a couple of hours to burn.

Very nice and fun place to walk around. I’m happy that they are trying to keep this place clean. At this place, you can learn about many marine life and see the laboratory. You can touch some of the sea creatures and the staff explains about the creatures. One thing is the manatees place was little dirty Water and couldn’t see them well. Other than that, it was very well managed. Also they have place to sit and eat and souvenir shop

So much fun! The exhibits are well done and very informative. I like that some were inside, some are outside. The volunteers are helpful and able to share lots of information about the creatures on display. One member of our party has some mobility issues; she was able to move about with ease, access the restrooms, access exhibits on the second floor of each building, etc. A really great experience.

Amazing exhibits and well taken care of animals. Very few animals were missing from the enclosures, but based on other places I've been, it was a reasonable and expected. Staff was happy, pleasant, and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The animals were lively, seemingly happy, and had great enclosures. Definitely recommend to anyone who has a love for sea life!

What pressure does the entry or is it for family or pressure children and adults
Thank you for the question. Currently we have two offers: All active-duty U.S. Military personnel receive free Aquarium admission. A current ID must be presented to qualify. Veteran's Day: Mote Aquarium extends free admission to all veterans and their dependents with valid ID's on November 11 (Veteran's Day) each year. We hope to see you soon!
Totally worth it. It's like being under the sea. They have multi-level "membership" opportunities... Basically their way of getting financial support. But so many benefits of being a member- You can use your membership to enter for free or at a discounted price to other Aquariums around the country- You can go to the front of the line - you don't have to wait- even during the busiest times. I have a large family so our Membership allows me take all of us whenever we can and unlimited times for the whole year with me & other guests. Super great for tourists!! AND... You can rent out the place after hours & have a party! Get married in front of the Shark tank!! Happy Hour drinks & appetizers in side by the Jellyfish tank- See the Manatees & otters up close!!
Yes, very easy access to enjoy everything.
The new aquarium, Mote Science Education Aquarium (Mote SEA), will become the main public aquarium of Mote Marine Laboratory. On City Island, our current lab will remain and expand. This will bring Mote to 5 total campuses - Main Lab on City Island, Mote SEA in Sarasota, Mote Aquaculture Park in Sarasota, Mote's Boca Grande outreach office, and Mote's Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research & Restoration in Summerland Key.
Yes I and we believe that we saw & heard something like that there, but their is a lot to explore there with us as a family of three 3 with our baby girl. 😀😀😀😀😀😀 It is a nice place to go and have fun. Josephine and family
Yes they have 2 in the aquarium across the street. All part of the same ticket. You can also Google local area to see where they are in the wild too.
Their volunteer program is open to all, and has a minimum age of 16. However, there is also a program open to high school students, for which the minimum age is 15. The Mote website has a full page with information on becoming a volunteer, as well as the sign-up form.
