I couldn't have asked for a smoother experience than what I had at Avalon Camarillo. Laura, the Community Consultant at Avalon, answered all of my questions - and follow up questions - about the complex and gave me an incredible amount of attention throughout the entire leasing process. And the attention didn't stop once I'd moved in - she's been fantastic about keeping me in the loop about events happening in the complex, helping me with maintenance issues and pointing out the hidden treasures in Camarillo. She 100% solidified my decision that moving into Avalon Camarillo was a fantastic choice.

I've had some horrible experience with this place, for two main reasons: 1. The building structure itself is pretty bad at sound-proofing. We stayed on the 3rd floor (which means there was no one above us) and for the past 10 months or so we were constantly disturbed by neighbor noise from 11pm - 2am, which made my life miserable since I have early morning meetings. And there wasn't really much they did that improved the situation. So if you're a shallow-sleeper or sensitive to noise, think twice before renting in this place. 2. If you're a pet owner, you're more than likely to have to pay for the 1000+ fee for replacing the carpet, however careful you're with maintaining it, and however long you're staying in the same apartment. It's just a fact. The quality of the carpet was pretty bad and some of the spots broke loose not because of our pet but they still blamed it on us. We feel over a couple of times in our apartment due to those horrible carpet defects. We received no compensation for it but a bill asking us to replace those carpets with new ones, after our 2 years' of staying in that place. We even paid 800 dollars during our stay for a deep cleaning service for the carpet but that didn't matter to Avalon. Very disappointing experience overall with this place.

Average 2100 for a 1 br right now. Check their website though! I haven't seen any first floors available in a while but give them a call! They're very friendly.
They do have some low income units available but there is a waiting list.
