I can only suspect that they didn’t even open the laptop for the “diagnostic”. Open means take a screwdriver and remove the screws and panels, not just to press the On button. My assumption is, they probably just turned it on, saw that it’s turning right back off, and put it aside cause it’s 12 years old. Ain’t that the truth..(?) I took it to them to find out if Walmart did a good job, 2nd opinion, why is it turning off after logging in to windows? Is it a bad connection? Loose wire? A shortage? Is it the software? Windows? Hard-drive? What causes that?? They said that the motherboard has gone bad which was a lie or just wrong. I was also told that the new fan I recently replaced is not even working which also was a lie. I went back to Walmart to the same guy who worked on it 2 weeks ago. He disconnected and reconnected the 3 wires he originally messed with, when replaced the cooler. Now my laptop is working fine and doesn’t turn off or freeze anymore. Yes, JK Computers were not the first ones who looked at it. Initially it was overheating underneath to the point that it freezes and you have to restart it. They (Walmart) advised me to buy a new fan with no guarantee it’ll solve the issue. I paid a reasonable price for the part and labor. Though it’s really really quiet, You can see that the new fan is indeed working while the computer is on and open. You can clearly see it spinning. I saw it. I was also told by the service manager at Walmart that if it was a bad motherboard it wouldn’t even turn on at all. It’s also odd because when I dropped it off Daniel said it would be $75 to check it. But next day he only charged me 25. -is it possible it was such a low fee because nothing has actually been touched inside? I wonder. And won’t be back. But if they do take your money for nothing they certainly deserve much less than 3 stars and I’m just being nice here. Thanks for literally, nothing.

Free, you have the power to do that from home. Doing a factory reset will wipe the memory, you can just google how to do you for your computer.
