Always excellent service and atmosphere. The FNG Stevie Jay is a great add to a great staff.

Very disappointed! Started off by having to hunt down menus, napkins, etc ourselves. Husband figured out we had to order at bar then figured out they close down portions of their ‘kitchen’ 1.5 before closing. Drove at least 30 minutes to get here to discover that we could only order appetizers and wings. Would of chosen a different place if we had known. No waiters, no direction on where to sit or order. Overall rough experience for individuals who had never been to the restaurant before. Their live music was already packed up by the time we had got there. Meanwhile there was at least 2 hours till they close. This is very much a bar that just so happens to serve food. Their ‘kitchen’ is essentially a food truck. Overall disappointed. Watched numerous boaters (& others) leave and go to one of the other numerous restaurants near by. Ordered cheese curds and received cheese sticks instead. The only redeeming quality was the wings. They we’re at least crispy.

I was surprised to find such large rooms. 2 BR and kitchen included. The motel is old and could use some updates, but better than a lot of others in the area. The location is superb at the end of the road with The Shed in the parking lot on the river right near Monkey Island. Boat launch is right there too.

`Mac Rae’s of Homosassa Mac Rae’s is a secret worth sharing. Located on the Homosassa River, Mac Rae’s is “Old Florida” at its finest. The facility features an open-air restaurant on the water called the Shed. The food is excellent, the beer is cold, and the prices are very reasonable. For example, they cooked the fish we caught (fried, grilled, or blackened), served it with coleslaw and French fries, all for $7.00 a plate. In the winter, the Homosassa River is home to a very large number of manatees. The headwaters, where the manatees congregate, stays at a constant 72 degrees year-round. You can rent a pontoon boat, tour the river to the head waters and snorkel with the manatees who are inquisitive, and seem to like being around you.

Fresh and frozen available shrimp, frozen squid, cigar minnows, mullit
They have food. Just to get you by while you drink. Other restaurants around for serious eating.
I work in the cook shack at MacRaes not the hotel itself. Best way to find out your answer would be to call the hotel office and ask the desk person.
Call the front desk they are very helpful
