This hike is very straightforward. Most of the time you will be walking on a path through the woods, with knee-high vegetation on both sides of the trail. It’s a fairly straight trail so you can choose how far you want to go. The paths are well-shaded and block out the hot sun making the path fairly cool. I would highly recommend bringing bug spray, and watching out for poison ivy, as there is quite a bit lining the edges of the trail.

SO FUN!! This was back during the summer of quarantine, when the hubs and I managed to get away from the kids for a few hours. it felt like the trail went on FOREVER!!! Some parts of the trail were a little bare, but most of it was shaded. It was super level and there were barely any rocks at all. i really wanna go back to see the leaves change!

Lots of trails. One trail is wide and fairly smooth as it is for service vehicles. The rest of the trails are rocky and uneven and can be steep. Be sure get directions to the parking area, not the trail.

Darlington Trail was darling. Rocky in parts. Cool trees here and there. One view of the valley. Wide open trail most of the way. Moderate difficulty. Plenty of parking. Lot is on the right when you come from Wertsville Rd. Really enjoyed hiking it. Will explore some side trails next time.
