Overall it was a nice hike, it gets crowded pretty quick. I suggest going early to avoid crowds and to get good parking. 2.7 miles round trip would take 1.5-2 hours to hike there are a lot of good spots off trail so make sure to go exploring if able. Video of hike on my instagram: _eu.terra

Great trail easily accessible for all types of walkers or hikers, depends on which side trails you take and how far you want to go. In the summer the creek is low and full of shallow pools. In the winter the creek is full and rapids abound, people even go kayaking. In summer, you can go up to The Blue Hole after crossing the creek about a mile up the trail, then continue on up the other side. Popular place for summer dips in the creek.

Have been visiting this wonder since I was a kid, grew up right down the road. One of the many gems of Chattanooga’s outdoor offerings. A moderately easy hike to the top yields gorgeous views, and it’s a lovely swim during the summers in the cool mountain water. Since population increase, parking can be nearly impossible on busier days in the summer; also, Please leave without a trace- it has saddened me to see an increase in trash over the years, but I see an improvement. Just look at the photos!

"North Chick" is a great place to hike, swim, and kayak. The hiking trails range from moderate to intermediate, in my opinion. The trails are marked fairly well and are some of the cleanest in the area. The only factor that keeps my review from being five stars is the parking situation. There is not much parking, there are many potholes to avoid and the lot is often full. Don't let that deter you, though. It's a beautiful piece of nature.

yes, there are many deep spots which are excellent swimming holes. WARNING: keep in mind the water flow levels on the creek. What was a nice calm spot one day can easily turn into class 3-4 whitewater the next. This creek can be dangerous after a rain event.
Yes. With a fishing license.
