We had an awesome up close experience with the gators and other curious creatures! Super knowledgeable staff! Informative feeding shows! I even got to hold a baby alligator!!!

This place was really great! They have some really great staff that's super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They have different gators you're able to feed some of them, they have tortoises you can also feed, and they have a dock where you can feed gators hot dogs off of basically a fishing stick...they have a concession stand (including picture menu) and splash pad, lots of different gator pens...you can go to the little petting zoo as well (ducks, turtles, goats, chickens)...they have a little gift shop as well...you can hold snakes, gators, lizards...

It’s an experience for sure… Lots of gators of different varieties and even a ‘petting zoo’ for the kids, some goats behind an enclosure and turtles roaming in their area. Looks like some nice updates to the area have been made(new decking and MC area.) Beer was cold and reasonably priced for a bucket for the adults. Sno cones at $5 seemed a little overpriced for what you get. Staff was nice and the noon show was informative, unfortunately didn’t include any feeding, told the alligator are still a little sluggish from the winter. Splash pad was nice for the kids to cool off but had to walk all the way to the reptile house for the restroom. The one close by, was closed. Oh and the gator scare…

We will forever cherish our visit to Gator Country. We took our 3 year old who is obsessed with reptiles and he had a great time. My husband turned into a kid and wanted to touch every single animal that we were allowed to touch. The guides we had were amazing, I cannot say enough good things about them, they made our visit special and were amazing to our toddler. Our 3 year old was the first to touch a snake thanks to one of the guides who made us all feel comfortable right away. The place itself is a bit old and the bathrooms could use some help but the visit was very worth it. The day we went was very cold so they didn't have afternoon shows, however it didn't take away from the fun, my son, husband and I enjoyed feeding the gators a lot and learning about all the precious reptiles they take care of. A must visit from Houston, specially for kids and all reptile lovers. So many gators and awesome animals, very educational as well.

Did the gators escape?

Linda Metcalf | Jul 19, 2018
Andrew Aton | Jul 20, 2018

100% honest answer here... There was about 30 maybe a little more escaped from the rescue pond. All the alligators were 4 to 6 foot. Gatorland out of Orlando Florida just loaned gator country 40 alligators about the same size as what was lost. They are in the pond and happy as can be. Gator Country IS OPEN. A little short staffed due to 2 interns left to go back home today, so please understand if you come out there and the crew isn't able to stop and talk to each person. If you see somebody that works there, stop us and ask any questions you may have and we will gladly answer your questions. If you come out on the weekends, it will be more energized and we'll have more help to make it a more memorable experience. Please be patient with us as we have been working non stop since the hurricane to rebuild not only the park, but our personal lives too. Thank y'all and god bless

I haven't been there in about 2 months but the guy at the front desk had a large snake and I'm sure they have other snakes back in the back by the Gators but it was cold when we were there so the snake had to be inside where it was warm.

Stop by if your close, the owners are always there and are good people. They are basically a rescue home for injured/nuisance alligators.

Adults $16, Kids (3-12) $13, below 3 yrs old - free. There's an adventure pkg for $22 (kids/adults); that includes a show, animal food, a picture and wading with gators - that you can get also. Otherwise it's $2 extra for gator food. They have people food at the snack bar for sale and a nice gift shop as well. You can watch them get in the water and feed the BIG gator, hold snakes and baby gators yourself and look at and feed other animals. They answer all your questions. They have BOTH kinda of gators. You'll LOVE it! We've taken people back again and again. Gets better each time!!!
