I rarely go to the senior center but I did go last night for folk dancing and found whoever was at the front desk to be extremely unwelcoming. I asked about the dancing as I had not been in the past and, instead of answering me, she shoved a sign up sheet at me without saying a word. After that she shoved a jar with money in it at me. Still no conversation. The sign said $8 even though the Activity Guide clearly states that the fee is $7 for Albany residents. I live close by so didn't bring my purse, just $7 and my house key. When I told her this she rolled her eyes and glared at me. I put my $7 in the jar and found the folk dancing room. The folk dancing was fun with nice people.

Adding on top of Jamila Feldman review. It is unfortunate that one of their employee who caused damage to my car and almost injure my dog do not accept liability. I am questioning the effectiveness of their class for older drivers.

My only visit here was for a meeting of an interest group of which I'm a member. It's not Senior oriented. The meeting room was clean, well organized, and the sound and projection system worked well - and there was staff available on a Saturday to help! If I was able to rate ONLY that aspect, I'd give it 5 start - especially in allowing non Senior oriented groups access. However, I understand that there are a lot of Senior services offered which I can't evaluate, so I don't feel I can give it the full 5 stars - I reserve that rating for places I can fully review.

Across the street from the Albany Senior Center is a very nice park. Plaque describing how cooperation of Federal, BART, and the city of Albany money was used to create this demonstration park.
