Overall my mom has been very happy with her caregivers. She is especially fond of Desiree. Some of the ladies are a bit too opinionated and try to impose their ideas on my mom. I know they have her best interests at heart and truly want the best for her. Just a reminder they need to listen to her and do what she asks. Thank you to everyone who cares for my mom. It’s truly appreciated.

Picked this company because it had a high rating on both Google and Yelp (note worthy that they do not have many reviews, Just like other companies. I have noticed it's either bad reviews, slim good ones or none at all. We need to change that. Reviews aren't that hard to do and honestly help people when they are faced with picking a company to care for their family members. You are the one that truly knows how the company treated your concerns and the care they provided) Establishing care: 5 star My mother was released from a rehab center so they took care of assigning the company care (made it very easy) Onboarding: 4 star My mother was released from rehab on June 30th and had her onboarding done on July 3rd. During onboarding they just go over paperwork and tell you your rights and an overview of care. Office staff: 1 star Over all company: 1 star On several occasions we had to call into the office and the service or response was not proactive or helpful, it often had us confused and left with days and weeks of no care or answered questions. For example:: -after onboarding my mother went over a week without therapy or visits (yes we understand it was a holiday but some type of communication would have been nice) -we had to reach out to them when therapist were no shows and they had no urgency -my mother switched health care providers so they discharged my mother and had us wait a full month to restart care after revaluation -they never knew who my mother was when we would call them (resulting in promised call backs or sending me to other people) -when we would call they would say things like oh it's you again, or we already know (which instead they could have called and kept us updated rather then making us wait and call) -they were unprofessional when it came to knowing their staff names (upon asking us who our therapists were they told us they did not work there or we had the wrong names - make it make sense?!) -they discharged my mom without notifying us Physical therapist: Micheal 5 star Really good and friendly. He clearly knew what he was doing and was able to push and motivate my mother to get up and walk back and forth in the house. Social worker: 1 star Denise was horrible, she came a day early for service and clearly didn't know what she was doing. I informed her that we had physical therapy that day, however she still came for a 5 minute visit to ask if we had any questions. Our physical therapist came and she had to ask him how to use the tablet, meanwhile she bashed the company and lack of onboarding. She was scheduled to come visit again in 2 weeks. Instead of coming she called to say that she felt like we were "smart" enough to do everything on our own so she was going to discharge us. Home health aid: - 0 stars They apparently only have 1 home health aid so we never had a visit and don't even know if they put us on the list because they brushed us off every time we asked. Nurse: Beatrice: 4 star All nurses were subpar, they come to check vitals and update the doctors of any new or worsening conditions. All nurses stayed for about 5 to 10 minutes maximum. Always rising thru visits. With the exception of Beatrice, though she was always late (reason for -1 star) she was so attentive and actually seemed to care, each of her visits she oils talk with my mother, make her laugh and give her tips to get better. She would rub massaging rub on my mom if she was complaining of being sore. She would have her stand and ask her to walk to know her progress. She would stay her whole slotted 30 minutes. You could tell the at she liked her job and wanted to care for as well as see her patients get better. Occupational therapist: Abby 5 star She was great! She asked what my moms goals were and worked towards that. Mostly working in the independence of getting up and transferring herself as well as working her arms and eyes. While my mom was in the hospital she still reached out and checked in. Speech therapist: 1 star Did nothing

We have used KINDRED at Home care for the past month  & are very pleased with the service. Ingrid was fantastic in getting us set up with care givers the very afternoon my sister came home from hospital.  The care givers--Deb, Brenda, Armithia, Zeny, Dolores, & Sonny--have given  excellent care to my sister; they have been very supportive to both of us.  The office support has kept in touch as changes in care givers occurred or we needed to alter the schedule.  We highly recommend Kindred at Home.

Kindred At Home was there for us when we really need help for our Dad. He had a bad fall, was admitted to the hospital, and then went to a post-acute facility. Kindred was responsive and helpful throughout the process of getting Dad home. The Kindred caregivers were patient, kind and attentive. They helped him exercise to gain strength and confidence. They took initiative and asked how they could help. For those looking for in-home care giving, I wouldn't hesitate in choosing Kindred At Home.

Transportation, especially to medical appointments and procedures, is a popular home care service. It can often be arranged in a few hours, but the more notice given is always better. A regular planned schedule can be set up, or the caregiver can be used on an "as needed" basis.

How Are Caregiver Scheduling And Reliability Managed?

Kindred at Home | Aug 25, 2021
Kindred at Home | Aug 25, 2021

Our agency uses a phone-in time card system that alerts the scheduling supervisor if someone does not check in at the appointed time for any unforeseen reason, so that a supervisor can immediately come by to care for a client until the caregiver arrives or a replacement is arranged. This also guarantees that clients are accurately billed for the actual hours worked. It is one of the major advantages of working with an agency, the assurance and peace-of-mind that back-up staffing is an integral part of the service, especially for frail seniors.

Do You Provide Caregivers For Someone In An Assisted Living Facility?

Kindred at Home | Aug 25, 2021
Kindred at Home | Aug 25, 2021

Yes, we do. We first arrange a meeting with the family to conduct a thorough assessment and develop a plan of care. This is not only to fully understand what activities or senior care services are needed, but also to get a sense of what kind of personality might best suit him or her. After this is completed, we will match the person with a caregiver. If at any time you would like to change your caregiver, this can easily be arranged.

What COVID-19 precautions are the home care workers required to take?

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is presenting significant challenges for all of us, but especially older adults and people with chronic conditions who are most vulnerable to the virus. Our in-home care makes it possible for older adults to heed the CDC’s recommendation for social distancing while continuing to receive the care they need to manage existing medical conditions. We strongly believe that the care we deliver is lower risk than the delivery of care in other settings, where patients are more likely to be exposed. And in-home care can help prevent unnecessary hospitalizations. We are taking every possible precaution to protect our patients, their caregivers and our clinicians from the spread of the virus: · Every in-home clinician must pass a daily health screening before being approved for patient visits · We have restricted access to our branch locations for visitors, as well as clinicians to minimize our exposure to COVID-19 · We are employing the use of telehealth technology when appropriate · We are conducting risk assessments on every patient who is referred to our service or currently on our service · We require personal protective equipment when treating patients with confirmed positive COVID-19 tests and those under home monitoring for coronavirus · We have provided updated training on infectious disease control to all of our employees, including the proper use of protective equipment · We’ve established a multi-disciplinary task force to coordinate and lead our efforts related to COVID-19 Kindred at Home is also working in partnership with local, state and federal governments—as well as other home health agencies—to devise and promote industry-wide solutions to this growing health crisis. You can count on us to remain vigilant during this challenging time. We are 100% committed to you and your loved ones.
