Home Instead was a "life saver"! When an urgent healthcare need arose, we contacted their Office and immediately were reassured that appropriate 24/7 care could be started and provided for a week or more, with a flexible schedule toward the end of the requested service. Talk about a "dream come true", AND, they delivered!!! The caregivers were competent, kind and genuinely caring, honored our personal requests, and totally complied with Covid precautions. The weekly schedule appeared almost seamlessly with service reduction as our care needs decreased. Yes. During our onboarding process CAREGivers spend approximately 15 hours in the classroom. We have subjects that are required by Department of Social Services and by our Franchisor, Home Instead Inc. to complete before assigning a CAREGiver to a new shift.
Yes they can provide transportation for errands, appointments as an example.
We do not surcharge for care over the weekends or over night.
Our minimum shift is 3.5 hours and 12 hours in a week.
We strongly recommend that essential employees follow the county guidelines. Our county is recommending monthly testing. Our CAREGivers also have to monitor their temperature on a daily basis and have to respond to a series of questions before each shift.
