Went to see Boston Pops for Star Wars and it was pretty awesome. They play the music to full length movies. Basic snacks like m&ms available and alscholic and non-alcoholic drinks. On the floor level can have drinks and foods, but not on upper levels to my knowledge (except can have bottled water) The wait staff were wearing android aprons to set the theme. The hall is directly off the Green Line so very easy public transportation to get to/from.

I love this place, it's beautiful, and the music is fantastic! They offer promotions and discounts too, from time to time.

Excellent acoustics. Beautiful spaces. Outstanding musicians. The previews before the Friday matinee performances are free and well worth it. You will learn something meaningful even if the music described is a piece you are familiar with. Book the before performance meal for an added treat!

I do not have any information related to free admission to BSO performances.
Casual Fridays offer lower ticket prices and a more relaxed dress code for the audience and the orchestra. There is also a pre-concert reception where guests can hear from the director or musicians. And a post-concert reception where people can share their experience at the show. There are snacks an a cash bar and it sounds like the goal is to make concerts more affordable to include a wider audience. Sounds fun!
