So I went out to dinner with my lady to try out a new spot called "Succotash". The service was excellent and the drinks were on point (which is where the good experience ended), but the food... The food was HORRIBLE! The place is supposed to be a southern American meets Asian infusion influence. Well the old bay seasoned Mac&Cheese was just "yuck". The kimchi infused collard greens was straight "blasphemy". I mean it had a pickled flavor that was unappealing. I was simply appalled! The fried catfish was burnt I had to send it back as it tasted like hot crackers with seasoning. Then they had "dirty fried chicken" you'd think it was the bomb ,but it wasn't. It was some dried out overcooked dark meat which should be tender that they tried to smother in a tangy sauce. I will save you the trouble "go to the bar but don't eat the food". We spent about $200 (including tip) for two on bad food. Eating at the National Harbor isn't cheap. The price I only mind when the food is awful. 👎🤢

Huge fan of Edward Lee's southern/ Korean fusion take. Place is a bit dark though fun. I enjoyed everything they served. I recommend the shrimp and grits and the beef short rib. This place is much cheaper than his high end restaurant but still in the $30 dish. But you do get a lot for what you pay for. The bacon jam deviled eggs is to die for.

Surprisingly the best fries I had ever had at a restaurant. They were perfectly salty and hot and fresh. The Pimento Cheese Burger also was cooked well and you could taste the flavors of the cheese and bacon jam, the latter of which was excellent. Waiter was pleasant, informative, and attentive. Atmosphere was calm and decor matched the menu. All together a fantastic experience.

The design and detail if the restaurant and its vibe is really good. The bar is also fun to sit at. The food is just fine for $$$ restaurant. My bad experience was when my frozen drink got canceled after 15 minutes of waiting due to the machine malfunction. When I order another drink it came after my food was already at the table! Obviously I didn’t needed the drink anymore and I couldn’t enjoy that but I didn’t say anything. Anyway these kinds of error you din’t expect it to happen at good restaurants.
