Got to love a real diner. It appeared as though they had almost as many staff as they did tables. You would think the service would have been better. Our server barely checked on us. And it took forever for them to take our money when we tried to pay the bill. Otherwise... The food is great. The atmosphere is fun. I would go back.... But not with that same server.

I had looked at places to eat while in the area, sadly, for a funeral service at Arlington National Cemetery, and this place was one of our top options. The service was excellent. Parking was challenging but that was to be expected for the area. Funny … my 15-year-old son and I both got the steak omelet and loved it. Hubby and 11-year-old daughter both got biscuits and gravy. He liked them, she didn’t care for them but mostly because she was sitting under a fan that seems to have cooled them off quickly. The homestyle fries looked delicious but we felt lacked flavor and definitely needed salt. Sweet tea was good… which we were pleasantly surprised by being outside of the South! 😉😂

What a great place for breakfast! We went there on a hot Sunday morning and were able to find parking near by and a table within a few mins of waiting, the food was good and reasonably priced. The experience feels original with all the photos and memorabilia on the walls and the service is great. We had a great time and didn’t feel rushed. The shakes are great! We will be back anytime we are in the area for breakfast.

Bob and Edith's is a great diner, and even though they've expanded to include some other locations, this original location retains a special charm that could be described as a comfortable, neighborly vibe. I've eaten here a number of times and the servers have always been polite and friendly. Sometimes the diner concept borders on excess (e.g. The Silver Diner). While those more upscale spots are cool in their own way, sometimes you just want a quick, delicious, and affordable meal at a diner that doesn't take itself too seriously. Bob and Edith's is that diner, and I love it for that.
