We reserved a pontoon boat from here and the day before our reservation, they canceled. When we reserved, they said they had no other reservations that day, so I know for a fact that there was no one with a reservation ahead of us. They claimed that our boat had a mechanical issue, which is fine; however they said their other boats were already booked, so we were being bumped. If we reserved first, shouldn’t we get priority? Apparently not. They couldn’t give a reasonable explanation for why they bumped us instead of another reservation made after ours. My wife and I both got hung up on by the office person and the manager. My guess is that we only reserved a half day and the other boats maybe were reserved for a full day and they chose to cancel the cheaper reservation. Regardless, poor business practices and terrible customer service. I’ve rented boats here before, but will not ever again.

Apple Island erroneously booked us their incorrect boat, and then called one week before our rental date informing us that the boat we were booked for (the wrong one from the start) was going to be out of the water for repair. They informed us that there were no other openings for that day, so the boat we thought we booked was taken by another party after us. I get that equipment breaks down and I'm not mad about that. We just experienced a handful of errors. I also understand this happens, and wouldn't be writing a poor review if the woman who does the scheduling had been the slightest bit more empathetic or accommodating. 2-stars because the dude I originally talked to was helpful.

The staff were great, the boat was clean, and even though we mostly threw the anchor and swam, we could zip back to the dock at 20mph. Our two dogs were also welcome, and we had a great time on the lake. Highly recommended!
