I was disappointed when I attempted to return a $130 protection filter that didn't perform to my expectations and was then told that they do not accept returns. Really? In 2022? There is no sign in the store that mentions anything about all sales are final (nor on the receipt, I checked) - but apparently they are. Is there any wonder why Amazon is crushing out of touch businesses like this? The manager also lectured me on why I shouldn't be using an ND filter in combination with the protection filter. I told him I had no issues with any other clear filter I've used on my other lenses - and I shoot a LOT of photos and video so I know what I'm talking about. If you weren't supposed to do that, why would the filter have threads on the front to accept another filter?? For $130, it should be flawless - it isn't but I'm stuck with it now. Giving it 2-stars because the people there are nice enough, but the strict "no return" policy is not worth the risk of buying anything there.

I drove for 30 minutes to the store because of its high rating online. I need some advice to buy a camera for my upcoming trip. First I spoke to one of the staff members, apparently he didn't have much basic knowledge. After I waited for another experienced guy for 20 minutes, he gave a quick instruction to the inexperienced staff without heeding me any attention like I was air. Unfortunately the other guy still didn't have much clue, I left empty handed. I was able to find more info on Google, it really makes me wonder why so many so called camera stores are no longer in existence.

Purchasing expensive camera equipment requires careful consultation. I came to Newtonville Camera to purchase a telephoto lens for my budding photographer son, who also happens to be on the autism spectrum. After discussing his needs and wants with Joshua Lavine, a recommendation was made for a particular Tamron lens. It was a big investment, so I went home and did some research. After reading glowing reviews for this lens, I purchased it from Newtonville Camera. We have been so pleased with the product and the results! It was very reassuring to have staff expertise and guidance from Mr. Lavine. I’ve also had my son’s camera cleaned there. Exceptional service and quality products – you’re in good hands at this specialty store!

Hello Robert, we hope that you any your family are well. We do process single-use Kodak 35mm film cameras. Bring us your camera and we can make prints - and / or scans to USB. Robert Shulman | Sep 28, 2021

Hi Robert, we hope that you and your family are well in this strange time. The answer to your question depends on the issue with your DSLR. If your sensor needs cleaning, please bring us your camera, charged battery, and attached lens. Our sensor cleanings are $75 and they take two business days. For more information, please call us at (781) 472-1472 or come on down to our location at 85 River Street #16, Waltham, MA 02453. We're open Tue-Thu from 11-6, Fri-Sat from 11-5, and closed on Sun-Mon. As a locally owned, independent family shop - we appreciate your inquiry and your business. The answer is maybe - if there is dust on the mirror or rear of the eye-piece. Otherwise it may need to be sent in for disassembly and further service.

Hi! Does your online photo printing app allow me to crop photos before printing? Or do I have to come in to the store to do that? If in-store only, can it be done from a smartphone or do I need the photos to be on a flash drive? Thanks, Susan

Susan Noonan | Aug 24, 2021
Newtonville Camera, Inc. | Aug 24, 2021

Hi Susan! I hope that you and your family are well in this strange time. Yes, you can crop your photos when you order via our website. After you submit your photos to our website - as you order each photo - you'll be able to specify size, surface, and then also manipulate the magic blue box to potentially recenter or crop your photos. However you leave the magic blue box - is how your photo will be printed (we have no way of making corrections after the fact). Please note that if you are ordering multiple sizes of the same photo, you may need to crop each size. Alternatively, you can also do everything you can do on our website - on our easy-to-use kiosks in our store. And you may order photos at our kiosks from your smartphone, memory card, optical disc, flash drive, etc. Please note that if you're printing photos that were sent to you via email, text message, or downloaded from social media - the photos may not have enough information to make a print. Thank you for your business!
