I couldn't be happier with my experience with MRFR. The kindness and helpfulness of the staff was amazing. The kitty we adopted had some challenges and the team was transparent and so informative and that made the adoption process excellent. The kitty we adopted was so well cared for by the team and that was apparent. Our vet remarked specifically on the care that Theo received while at Merrimack Valley and was so pleased by the thoroughness of the records provided in regard to his medical history and care. I am grateful that there are such caring individuals doing such important work. I would highly recommend if you are considering adoption to follow the rescue and to support their mission.

I volunteered with them years ago, working at the shelter, helping out with events, and as a photographer for many years for their calendar. The people are wonderful to work with, and they have saved so many cats' lives.

MRFR is a great little shelter. Employees are kind and you can really tell that they love the cats in their care. I worked with Sara by both email and phone, who replies quickly and was especially helpful. They give me a bunch of goodies for the two kittens I adopted, who are acclimating well and have great temperaments. Definitely would adopt from this shelter in the future. :)

Best place to get your cats. I got my cat there and he 's the best cat that I've hade. Definitely recommend to people that would love a new ferry friend to add to there family .

I have an 11 week old that I got from a friend 2 weeks ago; but I am allergic. Unfortunately I need to give him up. He is awesome. Snuggly, playful, well mannered and very handsom.
Hi Patricia, Thank you for thinking of our kitties! As a precaution due to the pandemic, we are not accepting fabric donations at this time. Perhaps another shelter could use them?

Not sure exactly how young but i believe you can be under 18
Thank you, Charles! We are always in need of volunteers, Dennis, and Charles has given you the website where you can find out more about volunteering with us, plus a link to an application form. In addition to the needs described on the website, we are interested in hearing from people handy with tools or of a fix-it bent to help us maintain our shelter building and grounds. Thanks for your inquiry!
Open Tuesday through Saturday. Closed Sunday and Monday
When I adopted mine I think the only paper work I received was that he was spayed and had his shots . Most adopted cats that I had we're strays . Don't know if yours is. Call them and ask them may be the best way. I too have a grey tabby that is in the same age group. I'm sure if they any other paperwork they can give it to you. Enjoy your friend best way to get a cat or dog is adoption
We are happy to accept donations of twin or cot-size flat sheets, and of fleece blankets. Thank you for thinking of us!
Hello Doris - as two people have correctly replied to you earlier, we are a cat shelter and adoption program, not a veterinary practice. If you look on our website (www.mrfrs.org) and click on "assistance", you will find some information about lower-cost veterinary services in our region. Our good wishes to you and your cat(s) ! Marty
Yup
MRFRS has a low cost spay/neuter clinic and may be able to foster for you. Try emailing or calling for more info. Good luck!
