These apartments are terrible!!! I have had problems with Roaches, air conditioner with black mold in it and it finally took me to take it apart and send more and more pictures to them to get a new one, ants or termites in my bathtub/bathroom wall!! I’m so disgusted, I had neighbors who were constantly fighting and woke me up for months on end until they finally kicked them out!! There is even a Roach that is painted into my bathroom counter!! Find somewhere else to live if you are considering these apartments!! I’ve had to buy my own pest sprays and traps!! I’m so disgusted and can’t wait to get out of here! I wish I would have read the reviews a little more closer but I need somewhere to live and fast….. never again do I jump at the first apartment that calls. I even kept putting in requests for the AC and they kept saying they came into clean it! I also had a water leak in my tub that I had to request to have fixed twice and the second time the guy said oh well we never came to fix this before Smdh!!

Cory Rodgers greeted us immediately when we walked in the door. He patiently answered out questions and even made us laugh. I am really excited to move here. This property is AMAZING.

Desert sands is absolutely amazing and i wouldn’t have picked this place if it wasn’t for our property manager cory he really helped show us the best sides of these apartments and really helped me and my significant other find our temporary safe haven.

Probably the worst apartment complex I've ever lived at. There is a reason this is one of the cheapest options in Haltom City. Haltom City is already cheap so this is saying something. Apartments are super old and the repairs that have been done do not hold up at all. I have gaps around my entry door into the apartment letting a ton of air into the apartment which increases my electricity bill. My bath tub is falling apart, walls are super thin so you can hear everything you're neighbor is doing. But my biggest gripe is the laundry facility. At Desert Sands you will not have the option to hook up a washer or dryer in the studio units. This means you either have to use their laundry facility, or take it somewhere else. At the laundry facility half of the washers are out of order, the washers that do "work" will not wash your clothes at all. When your load is done your clothes will be soaking wet with soap all over them and the dryers are not powerful enough to dry them. I have lived here for 2 years now and this happens nearly every time I do laundry. This is not a free service, this is something you have to pay for. I recommend not using the laundry facility because you will be paying to have your clothes destroyed. Can't wait for my lease to be up at the end of this month so I can get out of these P.O.S apartments. P.S - All of the 5 star reviews you see are from people who couldn't get an apartment anywhere else and this is their last resort.
