Editing my review as they are now closed every Sunday. Weekends are when a great many of us can get out to a garden. Otherwise, I still love this garden but can't give 5 stars to a garden only accessible one day out of the weekend. - That said, my original review below. A great place for plant geeks and anyone looking for a break in the middle of a rather hectic area. Cost is five dollars. Parking is in the garden, dirt lot. A main limestone path goes around all the areas that include a butterfly area, A shade garden, aroids, medicinal, etc. Orchids are in the Shade Garden and a greenhouse full of them are picked over by a group of orchid lovers and set out for you to see the most impressive bloomers at any point in time. There is a small plant shop you can buy from. There are simple restrooms, and the only food or drink is a drink machine. You can bring in your own food as there are a good many tables for you to sit at and enjoy a picnic. A lawn or two also, if you would like to bring a blanket. A good many tropical plants, something is always blooming. There is a small staff, and the rest is done by volunteers so expect a bump or two in the road and don't be shocked by a weed. Otherwise, this is a spot I visit frequently. For 5 bucks, you can't beat the range of plants you will see. Honey produced by bees at the garden is available too. (If you just want to shop the plant shop there is no fee to enter) You pay at the small building / plant shop where you park. I tend to spend 1 to 2 hours here, but I am a plant geek. Don't miss the cactus and succulent area.

A cute little garden that’s perfect for a casual walk or picnic! I loved the meditation garden with the wooden bridge and bamboos. But the overall walk for me took about 20 minutes max, I wish the garden would be more organized with more variety

Having got there with only 45 minutes to tour the gardens, we still had a delightful visit. David Moore, the "in charge" guy implored us to go back to check out the African Tulip tree that was in bloom despite the gardens were closed. How thoughtful and, yes the tree is INCREDIBLE! David was so kind and knowledgeable. Well worth the visit!

Well kept secret on campus. The very friendly staff works hard here to maintain the property and variety of plants. The space has something for anyone and everyone including orchids, roses, butterfly garden, orchard, and a reflection pond. The garden can be explored within an hour but I recommend staying longer to sit down and enjoy nature in the middle of the city. I hear you can also take a class here or if you are USF faculty you could teach a class in this space!

Yes.
She can talk to David Moore. He's the assistant director, a plant biologist, and loves educating students!
Yes you can!
Considering parking is on campus and carries a separate charge: maybe $5. Open parking to public and we can talk about higher admission
Yes, it depends. If you are a student of USF it is 1$. If you are an adult I believe it is 5 and if you have a child i belueve it is 3. I know 1$ for a fact for students.
You would need to give through the giving to the Gardens' operating funds through the USF Foundation, Inc.
I'm not sure. Probably.
They take cash and credit cards.
Yes
No, there's no fee for parking. They have a small lot right inside you can park in while you're in the gardens
We accept both cash and card.
Yeah, it's a great place to have a small gathering, if overcrowded it can get messed up very badly
Photo shoots are allowed, must be done during business hours.
There's no comparison. I would not recommend going. Not only is it old, but it was disorganized, overgrown, and small. Whatever pathways are there needed cleaning and clearing. They need to get some big donors involved to revitalize it.
It's cost $5 per person, and free parking
No, but they have free weekends every once in a while. See website for times and days. If you want to get the annual pass, that's on their website and comes with access to 300+ access to other nation wide gardens. Those garden annual prices for the same annual pass are almost double the USF botanical gardens price. Have a great time.
No, wheelchair available since everything is dusty and on the ground...
The posted sign had $4 as the senior admission.
Ask the staff at the gardens store.
I only worked an event there don't know there regular hours.
Small wedding; dead of winter; VERY informal (groom in shorts, bride in a tube top). Welcome to Florida.
They have a golf cart service to haul your plants that you could rent, but they do not have handicap carts/scooter.
Better yet, there is an amazing orchid collection and a butterfly garden! 💓🌸🌺
Have you seen how expensive they are if you have a large one you can sell it for up to 1500 I've seen them go for 2500 So common they're not expensive they are
Sorry... No paved walkways....
they do have a butterfly garden. Don't remember a tent or other structure. Maybe you could call and ask?
The 14th and 15th.
You should contact them in person or by phone. There is not much chance that they will see this here.
Yes weddings are allowed there contact them for exact dates and times
