Hello my husband gets food stamps and used my name and still I get none of the food. Dennis Olson is 64 and I am 74 and disabled. Please tell me why he gets food stamps and pays no bills and he has over $100,00 in saving money market and has cleaned me out of my retirement. All I want to know is why aren't they investigating him. Why is he holding back food when I have no monies.

Horrific to deal with. They are trained to deny all assistance requests & redeterminations by using excuses that are easily identifiable as incorrect. When attempts at contact and correction are made they simply ignore you. Impossible to speak directly to anyone unless you physically go there, which of course some persons cannot. If you can go they just tell you they either don't have the creds to help you or that you have to make an appt. An absolute joke, they are NOT there to help. Go through a lawyer if you can, you'll need it (seriously; your disability lawyer should be able to help, if you have one). JeffCo Inhumane Services are the -worst-.

Cindy was the most awesome, patient, and helpful person! I’ve been having issues/miscommunication about food assistance for a couple of months. I have tried to use their website and phone services but got nowhere. Cindy went above and beyond to help get to the source of my issues and offer a manageable solution.

I am hearing impaired. Deaf. I have been denied aid due to the fact a deaf person cannot hear a phone ring. During the application process there is a space for special instructions or special needs. I have informed human services of my disability and the accommodation I require to be approved for aid. Today I have missed the 4 times the representative had attempted. Of course the office of human services closed today. I can receive speech to text through the federally sponsored tty. network. I sincerely and wholeheartedly need to eat. I have been denied numerous times and start the process again. To be denied only because a representative does not pay attention to the special needs of an individual. Its extremely frustrating. I do not take this personally however, paying attention to detail is something I would expect from our professionals at Jefferson county human services. Thank you. I apologize in advance for the poor review. Robert

Do an application online and then a rep will call you. Usually this is when you will be approved or denied.
If you are involved with Mental Health and have ended up homeless or going to be, they sometimes can help you out for a little while until you can get a place to live. This depends on which county you are in and the available funds funds they may still have. Not sure if every county does this but Jefferson County Mental Health has been known to help their clients.
I work , its very hard to go up there
You need to start with Human Services in the county they are going to be living in. I'm not sure if they will have to reapply for SSI for Colorado. Have them check with the state they now live in at the Human Services department before moving here!!! If they are on a Housing program they need to talk with their Housing technician there as to if their program is transferable to Colorado. They will have to reapply for FOOD Stamps in the new county they move into.Wishing you and them a great and peaceful move to Colorado!!! God Bless 😀
No
Yes, it is best if you go in person!!!
Tis better to go in, early, on a Wednesday..... Also, I am not a faculty member, I just know this program
