Skippers Seafood 'n Chowder

Not sure when skippers went away from the filets they used to have to the Gordon's fishsticks that i was served but it is not appreciated. The batter was to thick and crunchy. It should be just enough to keep the fish together. Then there is no all you can eat anything anymore. They have it crossed off the menu. To top it all off they want $8.50 for a bowl of chowder. So you know they don't charge that much on the Oregon coast for a really good bowl of chowder. So in the middle of Washington it should be half that. What a massive disappointment. Drove 40 miles out of my way for almost mediocre food. I see now why so many Skippers have closed. This one is next.

I hadn't been to Skipper's in a long time since this is the last location in the Tri-Cities and it is across town. I was excited to go here and get the food I remembered from years ago. So I will take one star away because the place looks dirty and desperately needs some remodeling and two more stars for poor customer service. The lady who helped us was not at all friendly and seemed like she really didn't want us there. While my wife and I were trying to figure out what we wanted she seemed very annoyed that we were taking so long even though there was no other customers there. The food took a long time. That being said the food was just like I remembered it and I enjoyed it very much.

I worked at a Skippers years ago when they still dominated the seafood fast food industry. I think this is the only one left in what used to be a multi state chain. It is still impressive. There should be more locations as they far surpass their competitors.
