June 8, 2022. The kids paned for gold while we waited for our tour to start. They had fun panning for gold and everyone enjoyed the tour. If your in Deadwood you should definitely check it out. Staff was friendly and well informed. You can keep any rocks you find on the ground while on the tour!!

So cool going into an actual abandoned gold mine. Excellent narration thanks to our escort. They even encourage you to pick up any loose stones for souvenirs. Don't miss panning for gold too!

Very fun and quick adventure! Jasmine(?) was very knowledgeable and accommodating. What’s nice is that it is a non-profit and all their funds go to the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce to help preserve historic sites in the area. The panning for gold was definitely the highlight for my 5 yo daughter (she says she won and found more gold flakes than I did!).

A very nice tour! We did the candle light tour which was nice and a bit creepy (but not scary). I feel like you need to do both tours to really get to view the mine however. It is awesome they let you keep rocks you find along the way!

Yes you pan gold flake and you take home what you find :)
They took us through the history of the mine, even up through the most recent partial collapse. They showed the tools used for mining through time. How the mine got it's name. The most impressive to me is that it seems as if the mine is as it was when it was last mined.
Yes!
There can ve some muddy sections, so be careful.
