Lovely spot for all things outdoors! Great views, picnic tables and play places for the kiddos with a small amphitheater. The river is quiet, soothing and clean. Plenty of shopping and restaurants around for fun.

Beautiful place for a stroll or watching people play water sports. Come early since parking fills up fast

Not Arkansas campgrounds. It was not private at all.
The AHRA is one of Colorado's 41 State Parks. We do have seven campgrounds within the 152-miles of river corridor that are encompassed by the park, but there are many other types of recreation available. For more information, please visit our website: http://bit.ly/CPWArkansasHeadwaters or call us at 719-539-7289. There is no running water, hookups (electricity), or trash at any of our campgrounds. All trash must be packed out. Each campground does have a vault toilet available for use.
There are many opportunities for fishing in our 152-miles of river. In fact, 102 miles of the river have been designated as Gold Medal waters (from the confluence of Lake fork near Leadville to Parkdale above Royal Gorge). See our fishing page for more information: http://bit.ly/AHRAFishing AHRA Park Map (red text designates river access points): http://bit.ly/AHRABrochure View the Fishing Brochure for special regulations: http://bit.ly/CPWFishingBrochure Also, check out our fishing apps available for Android or Apple, "CPW Fishing" and "Match a Hatch".
There are changing rooms, but no water or electric currently at any of the sites in the park.
