Parachute Rest Area

This rest area is conveniently located right off the interstate and I absolutely love to see solar being used. With that said, their solar flowers are innovative and nice to look at. This location even comes equipped with a tourist information house/attraction. The view is beautiful and the bathrooms are well taken care of, also including a newborn changing table inside the women’s bathroom.

Although the small dog park has grass, its water fountain is broken. I’m guessing shade is planned, but there isn’t any now in April. The gate latch is bent, but operable. Plenty of dog poop bags and a trash can. This could be a very nice little park.

This particular rest area is also unique. This one also has its unique history behind it. Beautiful rest area with a playground for kids. Stores nearby and restaurants. No other rest area does not have such luxuries as restaurants and stores like this rest area.

Needed a quick leg stretch and a bathroom. Didn't want to stop for gas, so I took a quick pullover here. It was pleasant, nice facilities, and easy one-off the highway.
