Our truck broke down about 5 miles from Cody. Had a friend tow our truck and then go back to get our trailer and pull it to Cody Trout Farm where we were camping. Took us 4 days before we could get someone to check out our truck. Found out the engine was blown. Knew we wouldn’t make it to Windhaven our next destination so a friend who was with us called to cancel our reservations. She was told they would refund our money by the owners wife but the owner came back and said he wouldn’t refund us. Pretty sad if you ask me.

This may be a great place to stay but we will never know. Our friend who are traveling with us blew the engine in there truck north of Cody WY. We called three days ahead of our check in and was.told that they would refund our deposit. Then later the owner said he would not refund the deposit for the two over flow spots. However they said they had people waiting for a spot. Our friends are having to purchase a truck to get back home. I guess he needs the money more than we do.

I can't say enough about Alan and Kathy. My family and I were camping in Yellowstone when we were evacuated on 6/13. We had reservations at Windhaven on 6/15. I called and spoke to Kathy and Alan to see if by chance they would have 2 spots open (one for us and one for my parents). They did not have anything but they were thinking about any way they could help us out. They found a place for us to boondock for the night. We were 3 hours away and once we arrived in the dark Alan escorted us to the boondocking location. They told us to stop by in the morning so we could see what options we had for the night of 6/14. They had an open spot for us and moved some things around so my parents could park their motorhome at the campground and have electricity. They went above and beyond and we will forever be grateful. As for the actual RV park I would definitely recommend it. It is very small, but we enjoyed that. It is right up against the river and they have a community area you can sit at to enjoy the river (we even saw river otters swim by). The sites are a great size, one of the best we have seen at a campground. Everything is rock but they do have a pet area with grass, which our dog appreciated. I would highly recommend this RV park, whether it is a stop for the night or your base to head to the National Parks.

We stayed at Windhaven RV Resort 4 nights. Our site pulled right up to the Wind River, 60’ x 30’ with picnic table and fire pit. Clean laundry room and cute little dog play area. Allen is very personable and helpful with recommending what to do in the area. We enjoyed the small town of Dubois, and drove to Yellowstone NP South Gate, Grand Tetons NP, also a nice trip along Snake River. I would recommend staying here. Very enjoyable!
