I’ve ordered twice from TBC and both times had positive experiences. My second order was missing a fish and had one DOA which David had replacements set to ship the following week. No complaints. The stock I’ve received are beautiful, healthy fish!

I purchased 6 Cichlids from Tampa Bay Cichlids. I was excited on order I placed of 2-3 inch all males. When I received them I was extremely disappointed. As I was opening the box and pulling out the bags I could see they were all about 1 to 1.5 inches to 1.75 inches. Definitely not the 2-3 inch order I placed. Put fish in Quarantine Tank let the bags acclimate. As I’m looking at the fish I can see 3 of them have really bad Sunken Belly. By this point I’m extremely disappointed. I contacted seller. Seller responded that for me to take fish out. Put on a ruler measure each fish take picture and send to him Really! Like the fish is going to let me just take it out and lay it down and strike a pose to measure it! Then seller tells me that they use a Super Duper magnifying Super Scope to determine gender! Really! I advised it’s ok I will not be taking fish out and going on the mission. He never denied the sunken belly part. Well 1 month later as I disputed my charge on my card he responded if I want my money back to send fish back. LOL. 4 fish died. After 1 week. I have 2 120 gallon African Cichlid tanks and 2 40 gallon grow out and Quarantine tanks. Over 75fish some are over 1 year old. My water parameters are perfect. I advised seller he knows he sold me sick, undersized and unknown gender. He wasn’t interested in any of that. Final Outcome 2 remaining fish seem to be doing good. Still quarantined as not sure what diseases they came with as the other 4 died. I advised seller he can keep his money as obviously by him selling sick undersized gender unknown fish looks like he needs money more then I do. No apology No sense of trying to satisfy a customer. No urgency for anything. Just take money and run. Definitely do your research before buying fish from Tampa Bay Cichlids Do Not Recommend. I do recommend Imperial Cichlids. My friend and I Ordered 12 cichlids. All arrived as described. Healthy and 4 are actually bigger then Size ordered. Also got a call from My Credit Card as I’m a valued Customer they issued me a full credit! That’s Customer Service!

Pros-The fish that you buy from here are top quality, they have an amazing selection. When they are shipped the company adds a stress reducer for there slime coat, so no worry on unhealthy fish. Cons- a little expensive, and about an inch smaller than advertised. Over all, great company and would 100% buy from again. Just in bulk though.

Really impressed with Dave at Tampa Bay Cichlids.i contacted several different places to no avail as far as response or ordering instructions. So i ordered fish on the 15th from Tampa Bay Cichlids they arrived on the 17th all the way to Ohio. I placed an order for 3 different Mbuna males in the 2 to 3 inch range which is what my tank currently has stocking of now. Before the fish arrived Dave reach out to me and let me know one of the fish was a bit undersized. Dave not only let me know but he refunded my money and still sent the undersized fish free. They all arrived well packed and healthy with clear and concise instructions for introducing them Into there new home, which is important with an Mbuna tank. The fish have only been in there for 24 hours but they seem to be fitting in well. As far as the smaller guy well the other mbunas give him a chase here and there but he goes unnoticed most of the time. Thanks Dave and I will be ordering again from you
