I drove a few hours to come here today. It was a good time, staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure what's up with the $6 hotdog, that's wildly overpriced. I chose to rent my equipment, the boots fit well but the skiis would constantly pop off. I returned to the ski counter 3 times and on the final time I asked for them to be all the way tightened. The skies would still pop off randomly. Equipment needs maintenance, reason for 2 star. Your equipment is dangerous, for the $160 i expected more quality.

Our family had a blast at Mt. Crescent over Christmas break. It was our first time there & 1st time snowboarding for the kids (ages 7 & 12). Kids took semi-private lessons with Chris who was great with them. As first time visitors we were impressed with the staff being super friendly and helpful. Lines were long because we had a a lot of snow the day prior to our visit. Sam (the manager/owner - I believe) was very helpful and friendly - She got us moved up in front of the waiting line - to make sure we weren’t late for the scheduled snowboarding lessons. Overall it was a great experience and we plan to go back soon.

It was a quiet cool experience to go skiing in Iowa. Unfortunately just one lift was open. The hill is good for beginners. As an experienced skier I can say that after 3-4 hours it gets a little bit boring. To go half day skiing is totally sufficient here. So it's like 5 minutes up and 30 seconds down. Ski pass is on weekends 44$ for adults and additional 36$ to rent all the equipment. The Atomic ski I got were a little bit old and the edgings not really good anymore. All in all its a little bit expensive.

The big lift is broken and so is my trust. The big lift is broken and has been for a while. This means (1) you cant access most of trials without hiking up and back once you get to the bottom and (2) long lines on the bunny slope lift. Kitchen is closed, cant even get coffee. I've been to Mt Crescent many times in years prior, it'll never be a Colorado resort but its a good little place when there's alot of snow (like right now) and everything's working. I understand that they want to stay open to keep the season from being a total loss but there should have been warning on thier facebook page or discounted tickets. The workers are cool and we'll give it another shot next year but i'll call ahead next time. Update: the kitchen did open at noon, after i returned with pizza at Casey's, which was excellent ;)
