Just stayed over the weekend and had a wonderful time. It’s centrally located to everything in downtown Bayfield making it easy to walk onto the ferry and being able to get everywhere by foot. Coffee and fruit flavored water was offered in the lobby everyday. Front desk was very kind as well!

I'll start by saying my visit was the first weekend of the off season of the island, so my experience is going to be different compared to the vacation months. No one was in the office or on hotel grounds when we arrived on Saturday, our keys and instructions were place outside on a bulletin board. Luckily the wind didn't rip the envelope off and blow it away, we would not have known what to do. We did not receive any instructions or a heads up in an email and there was no contact number listed on the bulletin board. If you're staying during the off season, be sure to buy and pack food and snacks to bring with you. The hotel restaurant and everything on the island was closed. Makes sense but it is something we mistakenly did not think of. There is a year round market that is open, but choices were limited and everything was 2-4 dollars more expensive than the main land. Keep that in mind. The room itself was in pretty decent shape when we checked in, there was a few spots that were cleaned pretty poorly but with being the off season and everything, that didn't bother me at all. The couch in our room had some pretty big tears in it that were not patched up, that was the worst part of the room. There was patio with some great views of the water, a fireplace that made it quick cozy on the windy days. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay here again. The two photos I did include in this review are the views from the beach and from our patio.

We stayed at the pet friendly bungalows a few minutes away from the Inn. The unit was light, modern and clean with ceramic wood plank floors and lots of off-white shiplap everywhere. Joanna Gaines would be very flattered with the reinterpretation of her HGTV aesthetic. The grounds were quite beautiful, with well maintained grassy pathways with gorgeous fall trees. The drawbacks were that: 1) the only place to sit comfortably was an oversized chair fit for one normal adult in front of the fireplace...why not a love seat for two at least? Or better, two chairs? We took turns sitting in the one comfortable chair; 2) The bathroom was massive with no fan in the toilet room and the tub was elevated on a platform that I tripped over several times at night (awkward). Maybe a nightlight near it?; 3) Kitchenette is placed right by the front door (awkward)--I would have rather had more kitchen space and less massive bathroom (shower alone is 3x the size of the kitchenette area and the bathroom was 3x the size of the dining area, odd). If you remodel eventually, I would consider changing this especially considering that dinning options are limited on the Island and it'd be nice to be able to cook a meal in the unit; 4) All of the wall art was themed with 1951 The African Queen movie memorabilia with love scenes of Kathrine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart (really, really awkward). Why not share art representing the gorgeous landscapes of the coastlines, beaches and forests of the Apostle Islands? You could name each unit after an actual Apostle Island? 5) it'd also be great to have a screen door for the backdoor patio. The backyard and patio were so beautiful and there was no way of enjoying from inside the unit without the back door wide open (flies and mosquitos, awkward). That said, I was thankful to stay in a clean, pet friendly, quiet place. Thank you from the peanut gallery.

The room was clean and very pretty, but the toilet paper holder was gone and the curtains didn’t work. The pub will be closed for 2 days as are many of the restaurants, so not sure where we are going to eat. The resort should have warned the guests to bring food that could be prepared in the mini microwave.

We are staying at the Inn on Lightkeep St. Does it have a coffee maker? If so, what kind?

I recommend bringing your own coffee. We were just there 3 weeks ago. Not much was open. We brought our own bikes and outside games. Went with another couple.
