I applied here having strong hope that they was going to help my family and I. Met all criteria, not even from their preferred cities but I spent the little money I had to get at least some motel/hotel rooms from there required cities which was rancho Cucamonga, ontario, upland,Pomona or Montclair. Just so I can be able to get in the program. When my application got selected I was beyond excited, mind u I have a 9 month old child and currently 5 months pregnant and being homeless with that alone is very sentimental to me. Really thought from there It was not a doubt in my mind that this was going to work out. So once the interview started I thought that I did well, every answer I told was very honest and genuine literally explained to them that applying to this program was my only resort I do not have anywhere to go. Knew everything about there rules and policies without them even telling me. However I felt the energy through the screen from one lady that was off I could tell she didn't have no sympathy for my situation. After the interview I got denied, don't know why. Tried to ask for explanation. But the lady couldn't tell me why. In a times of being hopeless with children! this was the wrong program to at least try to fall back on. They denied me with no remorse. I was willing to do whatever it took for them to accept me in. didn't know what they expected from me out of it but God knew this wasn't the right place for me to go to anyway for genuine help. That's why it didn't work out. Couldn't even tell me other resources I can call what kind of people are you.

I’m in the 120 day program. This place is amazing they provided me and my daughter with a 2bd 1bth apartment. They hook us up with groceries hygiene diapers and wipes and everything we need for the house...... and little gifts like toys games and shoes for my baby....occasionally even stater brothers gift cards. I have my own case manager working with me to help me be successful and a therapist to help me work through my traumas and anxiety. They offer classes and work shops that actually prepare you to be self sufficient. I pay nothing all they ask is that I save at least 50% of my income. It feels so great to actually be getting the support I needed and to be trusted and treated with dignity and respect. There was a screening process and a drug test- but at the end of the day this ain’t no depressing homeless shelter..... this is more like A motivational transitional housing program. So blessed to have this opportunity!!! - oh and they do help the community with food diapers wipes hygiene and they have really good stuff. When I first came here to apply for the shelter program they gave me a whole package of diapers and wipes (name brand) food and snacks for me and the baby. The staff gave us cold bottles of water cuz we were walking......they were so kind they even gave a me and my daughter masks the cute cloth ones, and put chairs outside for us to sit in the shade. Great people ❤️

I called ahead of time to see if they were a food bank and when I got there the ladies were super friendly. My girls were happy to meet them (my daughters are not too friendly) . We left with food, snacks, diapers and wipes. Their thrift shop is also one of our favorites to shop at even more so knowing every penny goes to their program. GREAT JOB TAKING CARE OF THE COMMUNITY!!!

I called but they could not retrieve such item. Later I seen it behind the counter which is why I said something. The point is the manager looked at me as if I was not all there in the mind. I can only imagine if she's in charge with the women w/ children in the shelter. Not safe. She has a very poor way of expressing herself which could be very timidating for someone w/ low self-esteem. In my case, I just shaked it off. Manager: If your not fit for CUSTOMER SERVICE, please let someone else fit the SHOES!
Wow. I wish I lived closer to you. I vomited from el monte to Montclair daily. My son attends the local high school. I'm never home to cook. We eat very little,we spend most our money on gas& rent. I sure would appreciate that food.

You need stable income for them to accept you! You'll know within a week
I believe they do
Foothill Family Shelter takes many types of donations, including clothing. They have a second hand store on the Southwest corner of Foothill Blvd and Mountain Ave, in Upland (in the Stater Bros shopping center), which is where most of the 2nd hand donations are dropped off. The proceeds from the store go to helping homeless families and young single mothers get on their feet by providing many different services. It's excellent cause to donate to!
Please call foothill family shelter office for their hours and how to drop off items thank you
Yes, they do. When they have openings they announce an application day and, on that day, people can come to the office and fill out an application. You must live in their service area which is Upland, Ontario, Pomona, Rancho Cucamonga, Montclair or Claremont.
