Great family swimming area. It's by apartments so people down by the water doesn't get messed with the apartment people.

Was staying at a nearby hotel and wandered over here on a beautiful, early Saturday morning. The hike around the lake was very peaceful. Watched three distance swimmers who were swimming the length of the lake. The beach looked nice, as did the other facilities. There is a nice picnic shelter and a dock to fish from. I didn't encounter anyone else while I was there. My only complaint would be that the trail didn't circle the pond, it dumps out onto a street at either end without even a connecting sidewalk.

Hiniker pond has 1 thing going for it, the pond; but it makes good use of it. There is a swimming area for those hot MN summers, a fishing dock and a walking path going around the pond. There is a gazebo for a little shade, a newly installed playground, and public bathrooms. Outside of swimming season this is an nice place to do a bit of duck watching. Mallards, wood ducks and mergancers all nest in the area.

I've been going to this park for years, since the 80's. They have certainly added a lot of nice playground equipment and the bathrooms are always really clean. The water is pretty clear and swimming is very enjoyable. The downside, goose poop everywhere. You weren't able to avoid stepping in some. It was even all over the beach. If it wasn't for all the fecal matter, it would've gotten 5 stars.

If you are talking about the sign on the building, it always seems to say that.
