Nice little station and serves its purpose. Info board difficult to read.

Simple platform to catch Amtrack. No restrooms.

No fuss train station serving Amtrak Capital Corridor. Not much in terms of amenities. Departure board, some automated announcements on a speaker that could use an upgrade, and a very small covered area for bad weather. Free parking and there are cheap bike lockers. Don't leave your car here overnight, it's a known spot for break-ins and theft.

Would be nice if it had an indoor waiting area .. but it gets the job done

As Todd noted, Hayward station is unmanned. The closest manned stations are Jack London Square in Oakland, or San Jose. You could buy a ticket there, on your smartphone, or on a computer at the Amtrak web site and print it out. Some other stations like Santa Clara Great America have ticket machines, but those are for travel to or from those stations.
Yes, it's called the Capital Corridor. It goes all the way up to Sac and back down to SV ending at Deredon Station in SJ.
It is Open until 12:06 that is the last Train and no the next station after Hayward is Oakland Coliseum
You can always ask the conductor before you get on to make sure
Capitol Corridor runs from San Jose to Sacramento via Oakland, Martinez.
