The owner’s were wonderful and the cabin was nice. The bar friendly and the food was good, however, the evening bartender was crabby both nights and refused to make drink containing more then three ingredients, ice booze and soda. She would only long pour for regulars.

I’ll warn you now, my opinion on Wedge’s Hideaway is very biased because my family owns this resort. I grew up in Northern Illinois and during my 90s childhood, EVERY summer, my grandma drove my younger cousins and I to stay for a long weekend or a week. Even though it seemed like the middle of no where with little cable or man-made attractions, my fondest memories come from this place. As an adult I still look forward to and treasure this place. The serene wilderness, the nightly loon serenades, the beautiful sun rises and sunsets, the prime fishing experiences.... there’s no place like it. The cabins are clean with full modern accommodations, but when you step outside you get the full (“up north”) Northern Wisconsin wilderness effect. I highly recommend Wedge’s Hideaway.
