The sanctuary attendants are the most kind and wonderful people I've ever met in my entire life. They're so generous, so giving, so loving. They care so much about their environment and all the earthlings that live on this planet.

Hello, Unfortunately we don't. Thank you for your interest in PreetiRang Sanctuary

I have 4 beutiful peacocks around 3 years old, 1 male and 3 females. The county told us that our R-10 zone is not allowed to keep peacocks, and we must remove them. Would you take them?

We neither have peacocks nor a habitat for them. Hopefully you will get a lead from one of the other sanctuaries in NorCal. Good luck in finding placement.

Do you rescue roosters? I came across 2 that are living in an inhumane situation.

Hello, Can you believe, this week we received 5 requests to take roosters ? Every year is BAD for roosters. Every year it’s the same story. People buy eggs or chickens for backyard operations for fresh eggs and/or meat. Sometimes schools hatch eggs as science projects. They do NOT take into account that some of the chicks WILL be roosters. Gender determination is very faulty !! One shouldn’t buy chicks that young. There's no other way to nip the problem in the bud. Roosters are generally very sweet and sensitive beings. They are highly misunderstood by those who've not experienced them. They're not allowed in cities. Hence they are the MOST abandoned animals & the MOST declined by sanctuaries. Sanctuaries just do NOT have the resources to home every chick that turns out to be a rooster. We are at capacity; so are the other sanctuaries we work with. Thank you for considering PreetiRang Sanctuary

Can you take my rooster or help me rehome him?

Hello, Can you believe, this week we received 8 requests to take roosters ? The wildfires have compounded an already bad situation. Every summer it’s the same story. People buy eggs or chickens for backyard operations for fresh eggs and/or meat. Sometimes schools hatch eggs as science projects. They do NOT take into account that some of the chicks WILL be roosters. Gender determination is very faulty !! Roosters are not allowed in cities and they are the MOST abandoned animals because sanctuaries are generally overflowing with them. My heart cries for the roosters but I wish I could give you hope. We are at capacity; so are the other sanctuaries we work with. Thank you for considering PreetiRang Sanctuary
