"Unsafeway". Produce is terrible. Meat selection is blah. Expired items on the shelves. Worst of all: homeless people everywhere. They use the bathroom sink to full on bathe. I walked in the bathroom the other day and there was a guy sitting on the sink washing his feet. I had to use the bathroom so bad that I ignored it and headed to the stall, only to find smeared feces all over the walls. There is also rampant theft in broad daylight and the workers aren't allowed to do anything about it. A Wheat Ridge police officer sat and told an employee that they (the officer) couldn't do anything about the indigent with 2 dufflebags of stolen goods walking out right in front of him. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is that some of the longtime employees are absolutely wonderful people and make the rest not quite so bad.

Go here for the bakery... The bakery at this Safeway blows all of the other grocers away. Lots of fresh baked goods, bread, sweets, fresh and frozen pies. The employees here are always helpful and available. Kelsey and Ben are the greatest bakers in the state. The rest of the store is pretty typical for a Safeway. There has been a real lack of good sales lately and prices are around the same or slightly higher than King Soopers. Try to remember to grab a cart from the parking lot on your way in because recently it is common for there to be no carts inside.

Very clean and friendly store, staff is helpful and they have been with this employer for a long while. Their produce and meat department always have fresh and delicious products that will satisfy you, your family and friends and neighbors/visitors alike. Worth the extra drive and slightly higher prices. Good Store.

The pre-sliced meat in the deli is sliced to a bologna thickness. I have no idea why it isn't sliced "deli thin". It seems incredibly lazy. I always see the same gentleman in the deli area and have asked for fresh, thin sliced meat only to be told "It's over there". Like, I don't want a turkey sandwich with turkey that's cut to thickness of a ham-steak.
