Incredible and bizarre formations, no brilliant colors but fascinating. The 5 mile loop drive is rough in spots and very narrow in a couple of places but most 4x4s will be ok if you go slow... and you will want to go slow to look at all textures and colors.

Wow. What awesome eye candy. I went without any knowledge or expectations. What I found was a drive thru wonderland. The road is well maintained, one way and loops you through the most wonderful colorful canyon I've ever seen in the desert. A real discovery. Reminds me of the desert train ride at Disneyland in the 1970s. Campgrounds nearby ate clean, nice, with water, pit toilets and just $6 a night. Awesome!
