I bought my German shepherd from Highlander Bluff in the summer of 2020. He is amazing, but my issues are not with the dog. When I initially reached out to Highlander Bluff they were fairly responsive and even sat on the phone with me for an hour while I asked questions about their breeding program. Once I decided I would use them as my breeder, I put down the down payment and then I didn’t hear from them for weeks. I though I had been scammed. I called, texted, emailed and only when I had a friend’s brother go knock on their door did I get a response from them. During the weeks that I had not heard from them, the puppies were supposed to have been born, and they were, so it felt extremely unprofessional. After they got back to me, I ended up letting it go because they allowed me to come visit the puppies twice and I was happy with my puppy. Durning my questioning I asked them if they had any puppies with hip dysplasia and they told me they had one, but they blamed it on the owner allowing the puppy to overwork itself at too young of an age. Well I just found out my dog has mild hip dysplasia at 1 year and 5 months old. Unlike the other family, I have taken great care to protect my dogs joints. I have not over exercised him, I have kept him at a healthy weight and I have worked to prevent stress on his hips at all. He will no longer be able to do the sports I want to get him into and the way he gets exercise in the future will be effected by this. I was considering getting another shepherd from Highlander Bluff, but I will not be doing that. I have contacted them about the hip dysplasia and don’t really expect to hear back. Like I said, my dog is awesome. He turns heads, but I am less than pleased with his breeder.

Absolutely amazing bloodline and, just as important, the Breeders’s themselves are fantastic people! 5 stars all the way, in fact I wouldn’t buy a dog from anyone else!
